Award-winning biodesign startup Geltor continues to gain traction with its biodesigned ingredients. Through the ingredient’s sale to large-scale South Korean cosmetics manufacturer Kolmar, Geltor’s HumaColl21™ has now been incorporated into one of Asia’s most widely touted products.
AHC’s Ageless Real Eye Cream for Face, endorsed and lauded by numerous online B2B and consumer sources as a must-have item for any skincare regime, contains Geltor’s HumaColl21™. The designer protein, an odorless and virtually colorless fragment of Human Type 21 collagen, is ethically produced and developed via a fermentation process using far less resources than traditional collagen.

First launched in 1999 in Seoul, Korea, AHC products were available exclusively through private aesthetic spas and dermatological clinics. Subsequently acquired by Unilever in 2017, the company has since made its products more widely available, and presented AHC products in Singapore shortly thereafter.
Geltor’s second product, HumaColl21™, was developed following the successful launch of Collume™ (initially launched under the product name N-Collage™).
Based in San Leandro, California, Geltor was co-founded in 2015 by CEO Alexander Lorestani and CTO Nick Ouzounov.
The company’s first product, Collume™, was distinguished as “Innovation of the Year” at the 2018 CEW Beauty Awards. Geltor is also a finalist for the 2019 Indie Beauty Innovator Awards in the “Innovator of the Year” category.
